DeSaulnier Leads Philomath Past Ontario

Warriors Blow Tie Game Open With 3 TDs In 1:15

Corvallis – Saturday’s OSAA 4A Playoff game between Philomath and Ontario turned into a big play festival, and the Warriors’s Ben DeSaulnier had the biggest of them, disrupting a Tiger pitch play, scooping up the fumble, and sprinting 28 yards for the touchdown that was the middle score in a 3 touchdown barrage Phioimath unleashed in a matter of 1 minute and 15 seconds in the 4th quarter to blow open what was a tie game.

The explosion propeled Philomath to a 49-27 win, and a rematch with Gladstone, whom the Warriors edged 28-27 back on Sept. 20. The Gladiators, many of whom were on hand at Corvallis High to scout their next opponent, downed Siuslaw 29-9 last night.
