Oregon Athletics has a busy Saturday on tap today as the Oregon Men’s Basketball team and Oregon Women’s Volleyball team are both in action. The men take on Ole Miss Sunday afternoon at 2pm(ESPNU) at the University of Mississippi. Oregon is on a seven game winning streak to start the season. One of the big reasons for solid start is Transfer Joseph Young who is averaging just over 20 points per game and hitting just over 90 percent of his free throws. Freshman Mike Moser is helping on the defensive end averaging 7 rebounds per game as Oregon looks to replace the monster of last season that was Arsalan Kazemi.

The Runnin Rebels started the season 6-0 and fell on Wednesday to Kansas State by 3. They are looking to rebound against Oregon with leading scorer Junior Jarvis Summers with 16 points per contest. One thing that head Coach Dana Altman prides himself on is a team that can play well both home and away. The Ducks started the season in South Korea with the troops in a win over Georgetown. They look to continue the winning streak and climb up the rankings in Sunday afternoon.

There is another sport that warrants fans attention this weekend. The Oregon Women’s volleyball team started the season ranked 8th in the country. It was an up and down season for the Ducks, who were led all season by Junior Liz Brenner. The Ducks are also now on a six game winning streak after knocking off Miami in straight sets on Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Brenner and company will be in a familiar situation taking on now #8 Nebraska in Lincoln.

Last season the Ducks beat the Huskers en route to the National title and loss to #1 Texas. If Oregon can take care of business Saturday evening they will likely be in elite company. Oregon and Nebraska face off at 5pm PT Saturday. The game is available via Big 10 Streaming for free online through the Huskers website at
