RDTV: The Last Two Years of Rick Dancer TV

Setting up a shot with Terry Dawson

I think you’re really going to like this weeks Rick Dancer TV Show. We are taking you back for a look at the past two years, highlighting some special moments and laughing through many others.

When we called Terry Dawson at Coburg Pizza to ask him to be our location he jumped at the opportunity. Terry started a new Cafe at his Coburg Pizza location and this is a secret that needs to get out.

It’s called “Nana’s Caffe” and the coffee is really amazing. It’s locally roasted but Dawson can’t settle for just local he has to pick out his own beans to make his own blend. I’m a coffee snob and Terry is just a guy who wants his customers to enjoy the best coffee. I like a business owner who cares about his coffee. Too many people serve mediocre coffee because they really don’t like to drink coffee, not Terry. This guy makes coffee with the same perfection he demands on his pizza.

Fresh made, every day at Nana's - did I mention delicious?

Nana’s is a cute spot in a great little town. Terry’s crew makes the scones and cinnamon rolls right in the kitchen. I know because I shot the video of them rolling and mixing the dough. And yes, I tried them. When I say “Them”, yes, that means more than one.

Oh, and I just talked with Emma, remember Emma? She was is a co-host of some of the shows.
She hasn’t been around for a while. She said something about a restraining order….I’m kidding.  This weeks show highlights some of the funny moments with Emma. I edited the entire show and finding the greatest moments with Emma was probably the easiest part. Anyway, she’ll be in the show on Sunday and appearing more often in the future.

As I look back over the last two-plus years I can see how much the show has improved and how much more deep the stories are becoming. When I worked in commercial television nothing ever seemed to change. When you have your own show, change is part of every day and sometimes, if I’m honest, it drives me crazy. But in the end it is you who is served best when change happens and the show is better.

Oh, the show airs at 7pm this week, right after the Blazer game on KEVU.
