Now it’s time for the Eugene Symphony to say goodbye to its only remaining founding member.

Amy Jo Butler is a second violinist with the Eugene Symphony and will retire at the end of May.

She’s played with the Symphony for 48 years and 21 teaching education programs. She also served on the board and donated countless hours fundraising to help make the symphony what it is today.

Amy Jo says she not done playing or working. She now plans on teaching music now that she has extra time.
