MANUEL VASQUEZ MUGEUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene man is in jail Monday night, facing a lengthy list of charges including robbery and kidnapping.

Police got the call just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday about a kidnapping in West Eugene. Police said Manuel Vasquez kidnapped a relative, held the person at a home, but the victim eventually escaped.

EPD said took off with identification, purchasing cards, and a car. Police said when they caught up with Vasquez, a few miles from the home, he ran but they were able to catch him.

He’s being held at the Lane County jail facing charges of robbery, kidnapping, theft, coercion, assault, menacing, identity theft, along with a handful of other charges.
