Salem Teacher Charged


SALEM, Ore. — A part-time high school instructor in Salem has been charged with online sexual corruption of a child.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Ivan Hallstead on Friday night. He’s accused of texting and attempting to lure his teen victim for the purpose of sexual contact.

Hallstead is a part-time percussion instructor at North Salem High School and teaches private music lessons at Guitar World in Keizer.

Deputies believe the relationship he formed with his teen victim happened while he was working. The investigation in ongoing.
