Jillian McCabe, 34, was back in court Tuesday for the judge to decide if her attorneys could be present for her mental evaluation. The judge is going to let one of her lawyers be there just in case McCabe has questions. But the state argued otherwise, saying McCabe was doing research on trials before her son’s death.
“We do have some information that Ms. McCabe has searched the Internet to actually evaluate or maybe sort of educate herself on the criminal process,” said Michelle Branam, Lincoln County District Attorney.
The district attorney says one of McCabe’s searches was about a not guilty plea by reason of insanity.
McCabe will be back in court again next month.
