It was announced before the game on Saturday that Oregon would play without two kep pieces on Offense. Running Back Thomas Tyner and Wide Receiver Keanon Lowe would sit out the game against Oregon State. As it turned out, they would not be missed.

Oregon started the game by winning the coin toss and taking the ball first. It did not take long for Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota to make his presence felt putting the finishing touches on the regular season and also likely his Heisman Trophy bid on Saturday night at Reser Stadium, Mariota was key, at at one point in leaping over a defender struck the Heisman pose.

The Oregon Ducks Quarterback was accountable for six touchdowns and over five-hundred yards of Offense against the Beavers in the Civil War. Four scores were through the air with two catches being made by Wide Receiver Charles Nelson. Mariota also had two running scores on the night. The Oregon Ducks Offense was efficient when they needed to be.

On Third down Mark Helfrich had his team converting four of eleven times. Oregon was more efficient on fourth down converting one-hundred percent of the time on two attempts. At one point in the game the Oregon Ducks Kicker Matt Wogan had more points than the Oregon State Beavers thanks in part to a Ducks Defense that played solid all night.

Entering the game Oregon State Quarterback Sean Mannion was the key to shutting down the Beavers Offense and the Oregon Ducks did just that limiting the Senior to just one-hundred sixty two yards and a touchdown late in the game. He was nineteen for thirty nine on the night. The Beavers season is now over with a 5-7 record.

The Oregon Ducks season, in a way, is just beginning with a rematch against Arizona on Friday night for the Pac-12 Championship. Oregon remained in the number three spot in the Associated Press and Coaches Polls today meaning they will likely not fall out of favor with the College Football Playoff Committee on Tuesday when this week’s numbers are announced.
