The University of Oregon and the Ohio State University will be battling on the football field for the National Championship on Monday Night, but between now and then they are teaming up for the Ducks vs Bucks Challenge. Rick Erickson, Director of Annual Philanthrophy at the University of Oregon says it is about fund raising, building relationships with new alumni, and some friendly competition,
“This competition is all about drumming up support for our university and we need your help.”
The goal, of course, is to beat Ohio State off the football field as well. If you are interested in donating Erickson says the money will go to programs outside of athletics, “You can choose any non-athletic designation that you like, from arts organizations to scholarships to student clubs. Each gift to each designation counts as one individual gift.”
The Ducks vs Bucks Challenge will run through Tuesday Morning. Progress throughout will be shared on the Alumni Associations Social Media Channels, @UOAlumni and @UOGiving on Twitter. As of this post Oregon was three-hundred gifts behind in the Challenge.
Erickson says Ohio State has over half a million living alumni and Oregon has some work to to in the off the field challenge, “Every gift counts, no matter the size — give now and help UO beat the Buckeyes while supporting academics! “
