BEND, Ore. (AP) – Bend officials are set to vote on proposed rules governing the sale of recreational marijuana.
The Bend Bulletin reports that the City Council reviewed the rules Monday night and will vote on whether to adopt them Wednesday.
The proposed rules require recreational marijuana stores to be distanced at least 1,000 feet from schools and 150 feet from day care centers.
But the city’s existing 18 medical marijuana dispensaries could also become retail stores next year, even if they violate the new spacing requirements detailed in the code.
The proposed rules were developed by an appointed advisory committee and endorsed by the city’s Planning Commission.
