Fourth Boy Punished for Civic Stadium Fire

EUGENE, Ore. — The fourth boy involved in the fire that destroyed Civic Stadium in June has been given his sentence.

The boy has admitted to one count of reckless burning.

The fourth has a year to complete a formal accountability agreement in which he must comply with conditions that include community service, participating in counseling as directed by the boy’s juvenile counselor, complying with curfew and educational requirements, completing a fire safety education program, and making amends with the victim.

If he does not complete all of the terms of the agreement within a year, the admission will be filed with the juvenile court, which will take jurisdiction over the youth.

The three other boys will serve up to five years of probation.
