Baseball Oregon vs. UCSB Game 1

The Oregon baseball team was in action Friday afternoon against UCSB.  The game had been moved up from a 6:00 start to a 3:00 start.  That was a good move as the weather was mild and there was no rain.

Oregon played a tremendous game today.  Pitching was outstanding for Oregon and the fielding saved several runs from scoring.  The Oregon bats took a few innings to get going but once they did, they hit lights out.  Phil Craig St-Louis hit another towering home run.  Catcher Tim Susnara made a great play at home base tagging out a UCSB runner and then threw out the runner at second base.  The pitching for UCSB started out on a good note but the team went to multiple relief pitchers whom did not do very well.  At least once, an Oregon base runner scored on a bases loaded walk.

This was a fun game for the fans.  Oregon played well offensively, defensively, and on the mound.  We’ll see if the team can perform as well over the weekend.  I will be shooting the game on Sunday and I’m looking for more great photographic opportunities.

I am a photographer that loves to shoot action. I have been a wildlife photographer for many years and recently decided to become a sports photographer. I love sports and to be able to capture the height of the action and the expressions on the players faces. It's a work in progress. I hope to shoot many sporting events in the years to come.
