Locals Come Together to Honor Orlando Victims

EUGENE, Ore. – An outpour of support at Kesey Square for the victims and families of the Orlando massacre.

The community came together for a candle light vigil to shed love and stand united in the face of tragedy.

The Community Alliance of Lane County put together the gathering.

LGBTQ members took turns sharing encouraging words.

One Eugene resident said she came because she’s tired of seeing situations like this happen over and over again.

“We talk about victims and the horror of these crimes but we need to do more about prevention, so I’m hoping that more prevention and policy comes out of things like this,” said vigil attendee Lauren Slovic.

Slovic said it was good to see the community come together and support one another during this time.
