“Our community has met the challenge of COVID-19 head on, and I’m confident that we will remain adaptable as we continue to live a new normal of uncertainty,” said Medary. “Through it all, caring for the community, maintaining essential services and strong financial stewardship remain the bedrock of our focus.”

The proposed budget responds to on-going uncertainty as the city, nation and world begin to emerge from the global pandemic.  In addition to presenting a balanced budget, the document summarizes the City’s approach to sustainably fund City Council goals, City operations and emerging community issues while also maintaining a reasonable and responsible reserve for unforeseen circumstances.

The Budget Committee is a standing committee that reviews the proposed operating and capital budget each fiscal year and makes a recommendation on the budget to the City Council for final Adoption. The Committee is composed of an equal number of City Council members (8) and appointed citizen members (8). In addition to the April 28 meeting, the Committee will meet virtually on the following dates:

  • 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 12: Budget Deliberation and Public Comment
