Driver Arrested For DUII After Striking Two Pedestrians At Downtown Intersection

On July 9 at 12:08 a.m., police responded to the area of West Broadway and Olive Street regarding a vehicle that struck two pedestrians, and contacted the driver, Rachel Renee Glenzer, age 31, of Eugene. Several people who were in the area observed the incident. Police received information that the involved vehicle drove through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign, and collided with a 43-year-old male subject, who landed on the hood and hit the windshield of the vehicle. After striking the man, the driver subsequently drove over the feet of a 24-year-old woman and the vehicle hit her arm. Police observed damage to the front of the vehicle to include a shattered windshield and a broken front driver’s side turn signal housing. Medics evaluated the injured victims at the scene and both declined transport to the hospital.

After further investigation, Glenzer was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering and Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
