EUGENE, Ore. – On the strength of a dominating presence at the net, Kiari Robey has earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Robey averaged 2.00 blocks per set during the Ducks’ Bay Area road trip.

In the latest round of rankings, Oregon checked is No. 17 in the AVCA coaches’ poll and moved up four spots to No. 22 in the NCAA RPI release. The Ducks are back home this week to host USC (11/12) and 12th-ranked UCLA (11/14) at Matthew Knight Arena.

Robey opened the weekend with a season-high seven blocks in the Ducks’ straight-set win at No. 19 Stanford, the program’s first-ever sweep of the Cardinal and its first road win in the series since 2011. Oregon held Stanford to a .196 hitting percentage; the Cardinal entered the match with a conference-leading .275 hitting percentage. She added three kills and an ace in the victory.

In the team’s weekend finale at Cal, the Atlanta native put down six kills—hitting .714—with five more blocks and three digs in the sweep. With her efforts at the net, Robey was part of the UO defense that limited the Bears to a .032 hitting percentage and a season-low 18 kills in the three-set match.

With their wins at Stanford and Cal, the Ducks posted their first weekend sweep in the Bay since the 2011 campaign. Oregon heads into the final three weeks of the regular season at 18-6 overall, along with a 9-5 mark in Pac-12 play.

Robey and libero Georgia Murphy led the team’s defensive efforts in holding Stanford and Cal to a combined .122 hitting percentage. Murphy averaged 5.17 digs per set and added four aces this past weekend. Oregon leads the Pac-12 in opponent hitting percentage (.168) and digs per set (15.92 d/s).
