Walk Named Burlsworth Trophy Semifinalist


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Oregon offensive lineman Ryan Walk has been selected as one of 10 semifinalists for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding college football player who began his career as a walk-on.
Walk is the only player from the Pac-12 to be named a semifinalist, and one of three offensive linemen. The Eugene, Ore., native is the first player in program history to be selected as a Burlsworth Trophy semifinalist.  
The selection committee will announce the top three Burlsworth Trophy finalists on November 16. The winner will be announced on December 6 at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas.

» Joined Oregon as a walk-on before earning his way on to full scholarship.
» Did not receive any Division I offers during the recruiting process.
» Has started 16 consecutive games for Oregon – 11 at right guard and five at center.
» Second among Oregon offensive linemen this season with 21 knockdowns.
» Has earned a 70.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus this season.
» Yet to allow a sack this season in 184 pass-blocking opportunities, according to PFF.
» Has allowed only nine quarterback pressures all season.
» Oregon has rushed for 218.7 yards per game, 16th-best in the FBS.
