PENDLETON — Umatilla County voters get to decide if county residency should be a requirement for candidates seeking the office of sheriff.

The county board of commissioners at its public meeting Wednesday, Aug. 2, voted unanimously to move forward on two recommendations from the Charter Review Committee for holding the office of sheriff.
