There were more cries and giggles from infants, toddlers and children than is typical during a U.S. senator’s town hall when Sen. Ron Wyden arrived in Baker City on Sunday, June 25.

More than 300 people turned out for the noon event at the National Guard armory, and the main topic for Oregon’s senior senator was the planned July 30 closure of the birth center at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City.
