WALLOWA — The 153-acre Grossman fire north of Promise is now on patrol status, Tracy Brostrom, unit forester with the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Wallowa Unit, said on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

That status means firefighters are checking it every day, but were pulled off the 153-acre blaze over the weekend. Still, firefighters continue to monitor the blaze and have left hoses and pumps in place with the anticipation of warmer weather ahead.
