Eugene, OR. Eugene Springfield Firefighters are on scene of a house fire located at 795 E 29th Ave in South Eugene. Firefighters were alerted to a fire in the kitchen with one resident trapped in a bedroom. The resident was able to self-extricate prior to fire crews arrival. Due to the fire’s proximity to southbound Hilyard St, we ask that drivers avoid the area due to heavy fire traffic for the next hour.
update: The fire is under control and firefighters are clearing the scene. The cause is under investigation. One person was transported in serious condition due to smoke inhalation.
