Eugene, OR. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to reports of smoke on the 4th floor of the Florence apartments located at 1272 Willamette in downtown Eugene Thursday night. Firefighters had a quick response from station 1 across the street. Residents evacuating reported a large amount of smoke on the 4th floor. Firefighters made entry in to an apartment where they found food burning in the stove. There were no injuries and crews removed smoke from the building with high power fans.
