There are a fair number of Hermiston kids who are pedaling through their neighborhoods on new bikes thanks to a program that also encouraged them to read.
Miranda Hunt, a librarian with the Hermiston School District, said that the district partnered with the Hermiston Masonic Lodge #138 on the program. It is, she said, a partnership that has existed for several years.
