*UPDATE*

On Friday, January 11, 2024, at about 1:30pm, a Lane County Sheriff’s Deputy observed 30-year-old Destin Michael Wilde enter a residence in the 900blk of Hatton Ave.  After entering the residence, Wilde refused to come out. Wilde was wanted by police for multiple charges including Felon in Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle / Silencer (x4), Unlawful Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, and False Information to Police.  He also had warrants for Felon in Possession of Body Armor, Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession and Deliver of Cocaine, Elude, and Reckless Driving.

Deputies hailed by loud-speaker but received no response from Wilde.  They were eventually able to reach him by phone and Wilde began making suicidal statements.  Members from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Response Team responded to the scene and continued to negotiate with him.  Wilde made statements that he was taking drugs and his speech began to become noticeably slurred.  Eventually he stopped responding to phone contact.

Deputies made entry into the residence and located Wilde unconscious in a crawl space.  He was taken into custody and administered several doses of Naloxone (Narcan), then transported to an area hospital.

After treatment at the hospital, Wilde was lodged at the Lane County Jail on the listed charges and warrants.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this incident.  The safety of our community is our number one priority, and we are very thankful that this situation was resolved peacefully.
