At 12:08 a.m. on June 22, Eugene Police responded to a crash at River Road and Beltline. A Springfield man, age 18, had been driving his Toyota Matrix, which was occupied by a passenger, south on River Road. They were in the number one left turn lane to turn east onto Beltline. Once the driver had a green light, he drove forward, but his vehicle was hit by a Subaru Impreza going north and attempting to access the left turn lane to get onto Beltline westbound. The Subaru came to rest on a nearby sidewalk.

The 18-year-old female passenger in the Toyota had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

As officers were investigating, they developed suspicion of impairment on the part of the Subaru’s driver, Travis S. Evans-Warren, age 35 of Eugene. After an investigation, he was cited in lieu of custody for DUII, Reckless Endangering. Case 23-09062
