From 9:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m., on Monday, February 19, there will be road closures to accommodate the planned Martin Luther King Jr. March.  The travelling public is asked to use alternate routes, avoid congestion, and be cautious of pedestrians during the march. Eugene Police Traffic Safety Unit and City of Eugene Public Works are working in partnership on the closures. 

Motorists are asked to use Hwy. I-105 or Broadway to traverse east and west from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  

 

Route for Monday, February 19, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

March on sidewalks – The march is planned to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Autzen Stadium on sidewalks, travel into Alton Baker, cross the Peter Defazio foot bride, and arrive at the Campbell Center at 155 High Street. After this point, the march will be in the roadway and travelers are asked to use caution and avoid the area if possible. 

Road closures will begin around 9:30 a.m. on Ferry Street bridge going southbound at 3rd Avenue, 6th Avenue, and 8th Avenue. Additional closures will happen as marchers cross the river.

March in the roadway – Marchers will march from the Campbell Center to The Shedd and be in the road from 2nd Avenue and High Street to The Shedd at High Street and Broadway.
