An official from Saint Alphonsus Health Systems wrote in an Aug. 25 memo to several local doctors that the company will monitor Baker County birth numbers and “reevaluate reopening OB services if volumes increase.”
Saint Alphonsus closed the birth center at the Baker City hospital on Sunday, Aug. 27.
