Eugene Pro Rodeo & Fireworks

The Eugene Pro Rodeo is on for the Fourth of July weekend! Watch cowboys and cowgirls compete in Roughstock, bareback riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling and roping events. There will be rodeo clowns, carnival food, beer and a giant fireworks display each evening. Friday is family night, Saturday is Tough Enough to Wear Pink and Sunday will be an American Celebration. Perfect for Father’s Day, this festival is a celebration of Oregon’s rich aviation history. The day typically features aircraft, food and fun activities for the family. Watch pilots take to the skies and learn more about Oregon’s “Outlaws” who paved the way for aviators to build and fly their own aircraft. Check out classic model cars as well as airplanes. Modifications due to pandemic protocols may be in place.

Oregon Bach Radio Festival (OBF) 2021

Since the 1970s, Eugene has played host to an amazing summer music festival – the Oregon Bach Festival (OBF). The festival attracts distinguished musicians from around the world for two exciting weeks of orchestral and choral performances, lectures and community events in a true powerhouse of a production. An international audience of over 15,000 people flock to Eugene for the festival, which has grown to include over 50 musical events each year. Many performances are staged at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts and Beall and Berwick Halls at the University of Oregon.

Annual Oregon Highway 36 Yard Sale

Established in 2004, the 52 mile long yard sale runs the whole distance of Oregon Hwy 36, from its starting point at the junction with Oregon Hwy 126 at Mapleton to its ending point on US Hwy 99N just south of Junction City. Many side roads also participate.

Sales will be held outside. Please respect any sellers’ posted requests for masks.

2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field

Eugene, Oregon will host the U.S. Olympic Trials – Track & Field for the fourth consecutive trials at the newly renovated, cutting-edge Hayward Field. Watch as world-class athletes from all over the country converge for a chance to represent the United States at the next summer Olympics. The trials will be one of the major events held at Hayward Field in the brand-new stadium, which will be able to hold thousands more spectators and include state-of-the-art facilities for coaches and athletes. Every day will hold new excitement with activities for fans and families to experience the magic of TrackTown USA.

POSTPONED Oregon Asian Celebration 2021

Due to Pandemic Protocols, this event has been postponed unitl summer. Please check back for new dates.

The 36th annual Oregon Asian Celebration in the Year of the Ox celebrates the theme “Strength in Unity” every Friday evening in May to honor Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This free event features a Night Market at the downtown Eugene park blocks.

The celebration will feature physically-distanced vendor booths, cultural entertainment from dances to taiko drumming, martial arts, Asian food carts/trucks, a marketplace and windowfront exhibits of fine arts, heritage, and crafts in nearly a dozen windowfront exhibits on Willamette Street. Dozens of cultures will be represented at the festival including Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Central Asian cultures and many more! 

The event is produced by the Asian American Council of Oregon whose mission is to create opportunities that foster greater understanding of Asian and Asian American cultures by presenting special events and activities that promote friendship and harmonious relationships.

It will be a modified event on the footprint of Saturday Market design, held on Friday nights throughout May. The celebration will feature physically-distanced vendor booths, craft demonstrations and food carts/trucks. Traditional entertainment performances and live music from fan dancing to taiko drumming will be held on the Saturday Market stage. Explore heritage exhibits, demonstrations, fine arts and crafts and other cultural touchstones from every corner of the world’s largest continent. Dozens of cultures will be represented at the festival including Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Central Asian cultures and many more! 

The event is produced by the Eugene/Springfield Asian Council, whose mission is to create opportunities that foster greater understanding of Asian and Asian American cultures by presenting special events and activities that promote friendship and harmonious relationships. All net profits from the event go toward annual college scholarships and community grants administered by the nonprofit Asian American Foundation of Oregon.
