Talk: Fall Gardening for Bees

////

Join Brent Hefley from Plan Bees Eugene (www.plan-bees.com) in our nursery and learn how to prepare your fall garden for bees. We have a wide variety of native solitary bees and bumblebees in Oregon and they could use our help. This talk will cover a brief history of bees, their amazing diversity, thoughts on planting to support them, and how to create habitat for them. Brent will also cover how to get started keeping honey bees. Get a practical overview of what you should consider (Equipment, Hive Placement, Time Commitment) before taking the leap into keeping honey bees.

Native Plant Sale

////

The Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah spend thousands of hours annually cultivating native plants for Buford Park restoration and throughout the Willamette Valley. Beginning in spring, while supplies last, they open their doors to the community for you to take home a piece of Buford Park to plant in your own backyard. This year due to pandemic restrictions, they are hosting their sale online and arranging curbside pickup at the nursery. Great for Mother’s Day and more. Visit their website to see what they have to offer. Because people and nature need one another!
