gas prices

Gas Prices Drop Below $2 a Gallon

Costco gasALBANY, Ore. — Some drivers are paying less than $2 a gallon for gas in Oregon.

In Albany, Costco’s price is $1.99 a gallon.

Drivers are clearly excited to get the deal. Members lined up to get the cheapest gas in the area. Some drivers couldn’t believe their eyes when they pulled up to the pump.

“It was $1.99 a gallon and I thought, that is absolutely fantastic. It hasn’t been that way for years,” said driver Bob Kish.

Arco on the corner of Highway 34 and I-5 also has gas at a $1.99.

The national average is now $2.12. Oregon’s average is a bit higher at $2.34.

Labor Day Gas Prices Lowest Since 2010

pumping gas(CNN) — Motorists have something to celebrate this Labor Day weekend.

Gasoline prices will be at their lowest levels since 2010.

Regular gas will average $3.41 a gallon–that’s 18 cents less than last year and 42 cents lower than in 2012 Labor Day weekend.

South Carolina has the lowest average price at $3.15 a gallon, and Hawaii has the most expensive at $4.31 a gallon.

According to GasBuddy.com, prices at the pump should continue to drop through early November.

Rising Gas Prices

Gas PumpEUGENE, Ore. — Due to the uncertainty in Iraq, oil prices are on the rise.  That means that we will all be paying more at the pump.
AAA of Oregon says that the average price for a gallon of regular gas is now $3.93. That is the highest Oregonians have paid this year.  Should there be a dramatic turn of events, we could pass $4.00 soon.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in California is $4.10, the second highest in the country behind Hawaii.  Washington is the fourth highest at $3.94.
