INDIANAPOLIS – Former Oregon State wide receiver Markus Wheaton is impressing scouts thus far at the NFL by running an unofficial time of 4.34 in the 40-yard dash, one of the fastest times by wide receivers thus far.
Along with great speed, Wheaton is showing impressive strength.
Wheaton benched 225 lbs 20 times, tying him for third-best amongst receivers. Wheaton posted a 37.0″ vertical jump (5th best for receivers) and 120.0″ in the broad jump.
Analysts at the combine are impressed by the OSU standout.
Wheaton is projected to be taken in either the second or third round of the NFL draft and will likely battle CB Jordan Poyer to be the first Beaver taken.
