NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:

On 06/16/14 at about 1621 hrs. Springfield Police responded to a multiple vehicle accident on eastbound I-105 near I-5.  The chain reaction accident involved eight vehicles and was caused by the heavy rainfall at the time and drivers failing to leave enough room for speed, conditions and reaction time.  The persons listed above went to area hospitals for treatment.  None of the drivers or passengers had injuries that were life threatening.  I-105 eastbound traffic was affected for about 1 hour until the damaged vehicles were removed and the roadway was cleared.  The investigation is continuing and no citations have been issued.

NARRATIVE OF INCIDENT:

            On June 15, 2014 at 10:05 am officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Pioneer Parkway West & Centennial Blvd.  Both drivers were transported and treated at Riverbend Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  The passenger Virginia Mayfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

            The Springfield Police Major Accident Investigation Team is conducting the investigation.  The investigation indicates that Biehler was southbound on Pioneer Parkway West and failed to stop for the red light at Centennial.  Biehler struck Mayfield’s vehicle as it traveled westbound though the intersection.
