Dale Wayne Hill broke down and started crying as the jury of 5 men and 7 women charged with deciding his guilt or innocence in the 1998 kidnapping and murder of teen Stephanie Condon filed back into the courtroom after deliberating for less than a day.
BOGS sells for millions: ‘It’s been quite a ride’
A million-dollar success story in the middle of a market slump: a Eugene family business just sold for nearly $30 million. The company president says he sold because the brand is flourishing, not failing.
21-year veteran of sheriff’s office resigns after sex abuse allegations
Sgt. Fred Ray Swank, a 21-year veteran of the Lane County Sheriff’s office, resigned Friday after a police investigation into his conduct.
Police arrested man on accusations of rape and sodomy of a pre-teen child.
Jared Anthony Bernal, 24, was taken into custody by detectives at 2 p.m. Friday as he walked down a street in Cottage Grove.
New ultrasound machine donation
The Eugene Knights of Columbus have helped purchased a $26000 ultrasound machine so a local pregnancy aid center can show women the development of their children in utero.

Multiple injury accidents today
Scientists suggest it may have been a too long appearance of the sun after the record breaking rainfall and near greyout conditions of the last month. – ok, not scientists….–ed.
