THESE TOXINS ARE NOT ABSORBED THROUGH THE SKIN. HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE SKIN SENSITIVITIES  YOU MAY GET A PUFFY RED RASH. IT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. PEOPLE IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP CYANOBACTERIA (BLUE-GREEN ALGAE) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED AT SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) continues to bring clear skies and cold nights to the Pacific Northwest. Watch out for freezing low temperatures with widespread frost. The graphics for days 1-3 show the lack of frontal activity over the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 3-7  Wednesday through Sunday show the complex frontal system that will be approaching the coast next Sunday.

Forecast for the South Willamette Valley including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Partly cloudy with patchy fog and areas of frost late tonight,
  • Patchy AM fog and frost, mostly sunny and warmer Monday afternoon, mostly clear with patchy frost Monday night and Tuesday AM, mostly sunny and a bit warmer Tuesday afternoon, mostly clear with patchy fog and frost at night,
  • Patchy AM frost, mostly sunny and cooler Wednesday afternoon, then mostly clear with areas of frost and patchy fog Wednesday night.
  • lows near 28 highs 56-58 cooling to 49 Wednesday.
