  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM TONIGHT UNTIL 10 AM SUNDAY ABOVE 4,000 FT. FOR THE SISKIYOU MOUNTAINS AND THE SOUTHERN OREGON CASCADES.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM TONIGHT UNTIL 10 AM SUNDAY ABOVE 4,000 FT. FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON CASCADES.
  • A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM SUNDAY FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON COAST AND THE CURRY COUNTY COAST.
  • A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM TONIGHT ALONG THE BASE OF THE OREGON BLUE MOUNTAINS FOR THE FOOTHILLS OF THE NORTHERN BLUE MOUNTAINS OF OREGON.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

A PERMANENT RECREATIONAL HEALTH ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER AND MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER. THE ADVISORY COVERS THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER FROM CANYONVILLE DOWNSTREAM TO THE CONFLUENCE OF THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER, AND THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER DOWNSTREAM PAST ELKTON TO LAWSON BAR. PEOPLE IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP CYANOBACTERIA (BLUE-GREEN ALGAE) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED AT SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN

A strong Jet Stream will keep the storms moving along the Pacific coast. The graphics for days 1-3 show the frontal system giving most of the precipitation to California.. The graphics for days 3-7  Tuesday through Saturday show the continuing parade of strong frontal systems headed our way through the period.

Forecast for the South Willamette Valley including Eugene-Springfield:
