- A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM TODAY UNTIL 9 AM MONDAY FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON CASCADES, THE SISKIYOU MOUNTAINS, THE SOUTHERN OREGON CASCADES, THE KLAMATH BASIN, NORTHERN AND EASTERN KLAMATH COUNTY, AND WESTERN, CENTRAL, AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY.
HEALTH ADVISORIES
A PERMANENT RECREATIONAL HEALTH ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER AND MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER. THE ADVISORY COVERS THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER FROM CANYONVILLE DOWNSTREAM TO THE CONFLUENCE OF THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER, AND THE MAINSTEM UMPQUA RIVER DOWNSTREAM PAST ELKTON TO LAWSON BAR. PEOPLE IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP CYANOBACTERIA (BLUE-GREEN ALGAE) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED AT SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.
THE WEATHER PATTERN
A very strong Jet Stream flow www.wunderground.com/maps/wind/jet-stream from the northeast is sending much cooler air to the Pacific Northwest. A weak frontal system moved in Friday but a stronger cold front www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov pushed through the Pacific Northwest from the northeast bringing colder air with it.

- Mostly sunny and a bit warmer Monday, partly cloudy in the evening, mostly cloudy late at night,
