HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) is still keeping the warmer and dry weather over us. The ridge starts moving away from us by Tuesday. The graphics for days 1-3  show no frontal systems approaching the Pacific Coast. The graphics for days 3-7    Thursday through Monday show the frontal system that pushed through the Pacific Northwest Wednesday and next one moves in Saturday.

Note: The Vernal Equinox takes place this Tuesday March 19th at 8:06 pm to begin the season of Spring.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Mostly sunny and a bit warmer today, mostly clear tonight,
  • AM clouds, sunny and a bit cooler Tuesday afternoon, partly cloudy at night (Vernal Equinox 8:06 pm, Spring Begins),
  • Mostly cloudy and a bit cooler with a good (50%) chance of rain Wednesday, then a good (50%) chance of rain Wednesday night.

  • Mostly cloudy a bit warmer with with a good (50%) chance of rain Thursday and Thursday night,
