UMATILLA — The music has long since faded. Bands, crowds and vendors are gone. Trash has been picked up and stages torn down. And Umatilla officials are already working on next year’s Rock the Locks Music Festival after what they deemed a positive first year.

“I think by nearly every metric, it was a very successful event,” Umatilla City Manager David Stockdale said of the festival at the Big River Golf Course Oct. 6-8. “There are some things that we definitely still need to work on. Some categories were not as successful, but overall, it was very successful.”
