Four Umatilla middle school robotics teams experienced end-of-season disappointment when weather canceled the Oregon FIRST Tech Challenge Championship for the weekend.
The event, which would have brought the top 48 teams across Oregon together for head-to-head competition, was scheduled Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25-26, at Liberty High School in Hillsboro, just west of Portland, which on Feb. 22 experienced its second heaviest snowfall in recorded history with 10.8 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
