Blue Pool, also known as Tamolitch Falls, is a natural pool formed by water seeping up through porous rock that came from a lava flow that buried a three-mile stretch of the river. The pool is found on the McKenzie River Trail in Oregon’s central Cascade Mountains.

A hike to Blue Pool is a hallmark of spring in Oregon, but making the trek this season has meant donning your rain gear and thermals.
