BOARDMAN — The Boardman City Council on Sept. 5 approved an ordinance to form the North Urban Renewal District, which will go into effect Oct. 5 on the north side of the city.
According to a city press release, the district consists of approximately 181 total acres, 145.55 acres of land in tax lots and 35.55 acres of public rights-of-way. City officials hope to eliminate blight in the area by upgrading inadequate infrastructure and facilitating economic development and job creation through adequate infrastructure and development incentives.
