ADVISORIES

  • A FROST ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM MONDAY FOR THE NORTH OREGON COAST RANGE LOWLANDS, THE NORTH OREGON COAST RANGE, THE UPPER HOOD RIVER VALLEY, AND THE CLACKAMAS COUNTY CASCADE FOOTHILLS.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) brought the Pacific Northwest a small chance of rain. Now it’s time for dry weather and sunshine.  The graphics for days 1-3  show the cold front that moved through Oregon Saturday for cooling and a few showers. The next front is on the way. The graphics for days 3-7  Wednesday through Sunday show a frontal system that moves across the Pacific Northwest between by Wednesday.  Another frontal system will weaken and push in Friday, then a complex frontal system will be offshore headed our way next Saturday.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Mostly clear this evening, partly cloudy late tonight,
  • Areas of AM frost, mostly sunny and a bit warmer Monday (Earth Day), mostly cloudy Monday night,
  • A mix of clouds and sun and a bit warmer Tuesday, mostly clear in the evening, partly cloudy with patchy fog late at night,
  • Mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of AM showers, partly cloudy and a bit cooler with a slight (20%) chance of showers Wednesday afternoon,  then mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of  showers Wednesday night.
