ADVISORIES

  • A FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE FRIDAY EVENING FOR THE OWYHEE RIVER BELOW THE OWYHEE DAM AFFECTING MALHEUR COUNTY.
  • A FROST ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM TODAY ABOVE 1,000 FT. FOR THE UPPER HOOD RIVER VALLEY.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

A strong Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) is moving through the Pacific Northwest to be followed by a building Upper Level High Pressure Ridge next week. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal system moving into the Pacific Northwest today into Tuesday. The graphics for days 3-7    Thursday through Monday show frontal systems moving over the Pacific Northwest Wednesday and Friday.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Mostly sunny and a bit warmer today, mostly cloudy tonight,
  • AM clouds, a mix of clouds sun and a bit warmer Tuesday afternoon, partly cloudy at night,
  • Mostly sunny and a bit warmer Wednesday, then partly cloudy Wednesday night.
  • highs 60-66 lows 45-39 warming to 40 Wednesday night.
  • Mostly sunny and a bit cooler Thursday, mostly cloudy with a good (50%) chance of rain Thursday night,
