Oakridge: The Air Quality Index is 6 in the Good category measuring Particulate Matter.

Home Wood Heating Advisory:

Eugene-Springfield: GREEN- Burning wood in wood stoves or fireplaces is allowed.

Oakridge: GREEN- Burning wood in wood stoves or fireplaces is allowed.

*Pellet stoves can be used anytime since they don’t produce the particulate smoke.

HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

  • The Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) has moved to the east and is followed by an Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape). The graphics for days 1-3  show high pressure taking over and with clearing skies and no rain. The graphics for days 3-7    Saturday through Wednesday show active weather with complex frontal systems active over the Pacific Ocean moving toward then into the Pacific Northwest.

Forecast For The South Willamette Valley Including Eugene-Springfield:

  • Mostly cloudy with a good (50%) chance of evening showers and a slight (20%) chance of thunderstorms, partly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers late tonight (under 0.10 in. of rain possible, more in storms),
  • A mix of clouds and sun and a bit warmer Thursday, partly cloudy in the evening, mostly cloudy late Thursday night,
  • A mix of clouds and sun Friday, partly cloudy and night,
  • Some AM clouds, sunny Saturday, partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy late Saturday night.
  • lows near 39 highs near 57.
  • Mostly cloudy and a bit cooler with a (30%) chance of showers Sunday, rain Sunday night,
