HEALTH ADVISORIES

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

THE WEATHER PATTERN:

  • An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) weakens allowing clouds & possible showers. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal system moving through Oregon Wednesday with another right behind it. The graphics for days 3-7   Friday through Tuesday show no frontal systems pushing through the Pacific Northwest until a complex frontal system will be moving through Oregon between Saturday and next Sunday. Yet another front headed our way next Tuesday.

  • Clear this evening, partly cloudy late tonight,
  • Mostly sunny and cooler Wednesday, partly cloudy in the evening, mostly cloudy Wednesday night,
  • A mix of clouds and sun and and a bit warmer Thursday, partly cloudy in the evening, mostly clear late at night,
  • Sunny and a bit warmer Friday, then partly cloudy late Friday night.
  • lows 52-49 warming back to 52 Friday night highs 74-82.
  • A mix of clouds and sun Saturday, mostly cloudy with a (40%) of showers Saturday night,
