Firefighters are mopping up a lightning-sparked fire that burned 69 acres in the Wallowa Mountains and helped reduce the amount of fuel that could feed a future blaze, according to Forest Service officials.
The Corral fire was detected by an aircraft with an infrared sensor on Aug. 9 about 7 miles northeast of Medical Springs.
