At 4:09 p.m. on December 2 Eugene Police responded to a crash between a vehicle and a bicycle at the intersection of River Road and Ferndale Drive. Bystanders attempted CPR due to the bicyclist’s injuries, and then Eugene Springfield Fire took over. The bicyclist, Dale William Fuller, age 69, of Eugene, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a Eugene woman in her late 20s, was also transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Eugene Police Major Collision Investigations responded and is working the case. Preliminary information indicates both the bicycle and vehicle were going southbound on River Road. The bicycle was in the bike lane and turned eastbound in front of the vehicle.
