Eugene, OR. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the downtown Chase Bank branch at 11th and Willamette on a vault fire. Callers described flames from a below grade vault next to the bank building. Firefighters arrived to fine an alarm sounding and smoke from a vault area. After assessing for power concerns, downtown fire crews from Station 1 extinguished the fire and made access to the vault to ensure there was no fire extension into the air handling system. Fire Marshals are on scene to investigate the cause.
