PENDLETON — As fuel prices continue to fall nationwide, the average for a gallon of regular gas is now under $4 in Oregon and locally, in AAA data. It’s approaching the level of a year ago. Diesel, however, remains higher, while still well down from last year.

For the first time since Feb. 23, the Oregon average for regular unleaded dropped below $4 a gallon on Tuesday, Dec. 13, the AAA said. Gas prices continued to fall in all 50 states this week. Lower crude oil prices, lackluster demand for gas and growing gasoline stocks are the major drivers.
