LA GRANDE — Poultry and poultry products from Union County are temporarily under quarantine.
The Oregon Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal Plant Health Inspection Service recently confirmed the first detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza in a non-commercial flock in Union County, according to a press release. The flock, which included upwards of 100 chickens, are all deceased and did not enter the food system.
